Compassionate Funeral & Burial Services
A Funeral with a Burial can be held in a church, cemetery chapel, or only at the graveside.
Viewing and Attire
If you have specific clothing preferences for your loved one, we are happy to accommodate those wishes as part of our service. Families may also place meaningful items in the coffin themselves or entrust us to do so on their behalf.
For those who would like a private moment before the service, a viewing can typically be arranged on the day of the funeral at a cemetery chapel or church. If a separate setting is preferred, we also offer viewing facilities at a private chapel in Smeaton Grange (near Campbelltown, NSW) or Tuggerah, NSW, for an additional fee.
Funeral at a Cemetery Chapel
The main advantage of holding a service at a cemetery chapel is the ease of arrangement. Many chapels have a concierge to manage audio-visual equipment, photos, and music, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Additionally, most memorial parks with a chapel also offer on-site catering or have suitable venues nearby for refreshments after the service.
If a chapel is available, it is usually easy to move from there to the grave, and in some cases, the gravesite may even be within walking distance.
Funeral at a Church
If you are part of a church or would like to hold the service at one locally, we can reach out to the church on your behalf.
Older church buildings often require at least four, sometimes six, people to carry a coffin or casket up the steps. In contrast, more modern churches with level access or a ramp typically only need three people for this task.
When a burial follows a church service, the total time spent together is naturally extended, allowing for a more measured and meaningful farewell. This can provide more space for grieving on the day, compared to a shorter graveside service.
It was once common for mourners to follow the hearse to the cemetery, but today, many prefer to meet directly at the cemetery office or the graveside.
